What's New for Four Year Olds

Monthly Update

Well, here it is; MAY!  I honestly don’t know an entire school year has come and gone already.  Wasn’t it yesterday that we opened the classroom door to welcome a new class of 4 year old students?  In just a few weeks we will be beaming with pride as this wonderful group of boys and girls graduate!  My, time sure does fly!

During this month we will celebrate our wonderful mothers with a special luncheon and story time.  It will be held on Thursday, May 9th.  Mothers are asked to return to school at 11:30 for a small presentation by the students followed by a finger sandwich luncheon.  This special event usually lasts about an hour.   Please note that if for any reason mom is unable to join us grandma, aunt, or that special friend is certainly more than welcome to attend.

On Wednesday, May 15th we will have a special celebration for all our students whose birthdays fall in the summer months.  I will have a list of those names posted on the bulletin board in the hallway on May 1st along with a sign up sheet for a few things that will help make this day memorable and fun for the boys and girls.

On Thursday, May 16th the students will be graduating!  (bring tissues!)  On this day all students arrive to school at 9:30 a.m. (not the usual 9 a.m.) and the ceremony will begin at 10:00.  The ceremony is held in the same room that our Art show was presented in and lasts approximately 45 minutes.  We will have plenty of seating so please feel free to bring family and friends to celebrate with us.  The students will be wearing a cap and tassel which they keep.  The cost of the cap is $6.00.  You can place it in an envelope with your child’s name on it and get it to me anytime before graduation.  As always, thank you.

May I take this moment to tell each and everyone of you how very much your child means to both Mrs. Lori and myself…..tears are landing on my keyboard as I type these words.  It is such a bittersweet time for us; we are so happy for these amazing boys and girls.  They have grown so much over this school year and we couldn’t be more proud.  We have laughed together, sung together, learned together and loved together.  Yet, there is a sadness that we feel knowing that this is where our journey together ends.  As sad as that is we are filled with genuine happiness for each of them for they are now standing at the threshold of a new adventure which they are ready for.  Kindergarten….here they come!  Please know that each day spent with your child has been a gift for us.  We are honored to have been given the opportunity to share this preschool year with your little one.  Please come back to your little preschool and visit often; we would love that.

Have a wonderful and safe summer and our very best to all of you as your child’s educational journey continues in September.

Most fondly and with love,

Mrs. Peggy and Mrs. Lori

LSCNS participates in Scholastic Reading Club. This program allows families to purchase books for kids at a low cost and have them delivered right to our school. Every order helps our classroom earn free books, supplies, and more. Each month, you will see flyers on the shelf in the hallway. Pick one up, browse through it, and, if you choose, fill out the order form and place it in the Scholastic box on the shelf. All orders may be paid by check, payable to Scholastic Reading Club or online at www.scholastic.com/readingclub with class code J3HTZ. We will post the monthly due dates for orders on the flyers each month. If you have any questions, please email info@lscns.org and the parent in charge of the program will get back to you.

Please be sure to always park in the main parking lot on the east side of the building. No parking is allowed in the small lot west of our classroom or along the shoulder of Roberts Road. Please use caution when driving or walking in the parking lot or on the sidewalks.
