What's New for Four Year Olds

Monthly Update

     October

Well, we made it through September with flying colors and as we say so long to apple trees and Johnny Appleseed we are happy to welcome Jack-o-lanturns and the sights and smells of Autumn to our classroom.  This month will be filled with all things Fallish and of course, all things Halloween.  We will continue to focus on name recognition, name printing and pencil grip skills and as always, any extra help and practice time you can offer home is a great help and appreciated.

Picture day is scheduled for Thursday, October 3rd.  We placed your name on the order sheets for photo options and put them on the shelf in the hallway.  If you didn't pick them up we will be sure to keep them on the shelf for you.  We have a field trip to Zittel's Country Market scheduled for Thursday, October 17th at 10:30 a.m.  We ask that you arrive at Zittel's at 10:20.  Mr. Zittel begins the tour right on time.  The cost is $8.50 per student; adults are free of charge.   If you plan to attend, please place $8.50 (cash) in an envelope with your child's name printed on it and place it in the container on the shelf in the hallway.   Please note that younger siblings are able to attend however they are considered non-participating since they are not students.  (Per Zittels policies)

We will celebrate Halloween on October 31st.  Students are asked to wear their costumes to school.  There will be more information regarding Halloween forthcoming mid month.

As always, thank you for all your continued support and I would like to personally thank you for your efforts with our fundraising.  If at any time you have a question or simpley would like to chat you can email me or call anytime.

LSCNS participates in Scholastic Reading Club. This program allows families to purchase books for kids at a low cost and have them delivered right to our school. Every order helps our classroom earn free books, supplies, and more. Each month, you will see flyers on the shelf in the hallway. Pick one up, browse through it, and, if you choose, fill out the order form and place it in the Scholastic box on the shelf. All orders may be paid by check, payable to Scholastic Reading Club or online at www.scholastic.com/readingclub with class code J3HTZ. We will post the monthly due dates for orders on the flyers each month. If you have any questions, please email info@lscns.org and the parent in charge of the program will get back to you.

Please be sure to always park in the main parking lot on the east side of the building. No parking is allowed in the small lot west of our classroom or along the shoulder of Roberts Road. Please use caution when driving or walking in the parking lot or on the sidewalks.
