What's New for Four Year Olds

Monthly Update

I must take this opportunity to say “thank you” to the dad’s and grandpas who made our P.J. Party so much fun.  It was an evening filled with laughter and happiness by all.  It is heartwarming to watch the boys and girls share time with dad’s and grandpa’s feeling oh so proud to have them in their classroom. We hope you all enjoyed as much as we did!

There is no better time to reinforce the importance of love and kindness than the month of February.  We will welcome each school day with a moment of sharing as we say something kind about the friend sitting next to us; the best way to begin the day!  The room will be filled with plenty of red as will be the art projects.

During February we will begin to learn about a few artists as we prepare for the Art Show that will be held in March.  Info regarding that will be forthcoming.  Many of the projects created during class time will not be going home with your little one; they will remain with us as we STOCK PILE our art for the show.

On February 13th we will be celebrating our friendships by sharing Valentine’s with each other.  Please have your child bring in 24 Valentine’s that they can share with their friends.  It is best to not print a name on the outside envelope; this helps reduce student frustration when passing them out.  If there is something that you would like to bring in to share with the boys and girls, please feel free to do so.  It is best to place whatever it may be in a baggie (enough for 24 friends).  This way it can be placed into the Valentine bags that we will be making for this special day.

We continue to work on Alphabet recognition and printing skills along with concentration on letter sounds.   It is always a good idea to practice printing names (and letters) at home.  Every bit helps.

We do have a mid-winter break coming up.  February 17-21 there will be no school.

Happy Valentine’s day to all!    Mrs. Peggy and Mrs. Lori

Notices and Reminders

Current members may request to join our facebook group. On facebook, search for LSCNS Parents 2019-20 or click the link below.

LSCNS participates in Scholastic Reading Club. This program allows families to purchase books for kids at a low cost and have them delivered right to our school. Every order helps our classroom earn free books, supplies, and more. Each month, you will see flyers on the shelf in the hallway. Pick one up, browse through it, and, if you choose, fill out the order form and place it in the Scholastic box on the shelf. All orders may be paid by check, payable to Scholastic Reading Club or online at www.scholastic.com/readingclub with class code J3HTZ. We will post the monthly due dates for orders on the flyers each month. If you have any questions, please email info@lscns.org and the parent in charge of the program will get back to you.

Please be sure to always park in the main parking lot on the east side of the building. No parking is allowed in the small lot west of our classroom or along the shoulder of Roberts Road. Please use caution when driving or walking in the parking lot or on the sidewalks.
