What's New for Four Year Olds

Monthly Update

December……The most wonderful time of the year.

Mrs. Lori and I want to thank all of you for making this year's Thanksgiving play so wonderful.  Without your help the boys and girls would not have learned their lines; so a huge thank you to all of you!  How very proud we are of all the little actors….they did a tremendous job!

The month of December is the most magical and enjoyable month of the school year.  The excitement and wonderment that define this time of year can be summed up in two words:  pure joy!  Christmas is a time of great happiness for many, however, there are many others who will not be so fortunate to have presents waiting for them under a Christmas tree.  In keeping in the spirit of giving we will have a giving box located in our classroom.  It is our hope that we can fill the box with new items to take down to Cobble Stone Manor and the City Mission to help make Christmas a happy time for those in need.  I will send home a list of items that they are looking for.  If you feel so inclined as to help out you can send in the items with your little one and they can share with the class what they brought in and then they get to place them into the giving box.  It is heartwarming to see the love in their eyes when they know they are helping others.  It is one of our favorite moments during the school year.

Seeing the anticipation of Santa's arrival on the faces of your children can make even the biggest doubters believe!  And arrive he will!  We will celebrate the season with a party on our last day of school before the Christmas break.  On Wednesday, December 19th we will have a visit from the man in red himself and decorate ice cream cones with delicious frosting adorned with M&M’s.  There will be a sign up sheet in the hallway regarding a few supplies we will need on this day.  Please plan to return 10 minutes earlier for dismissal on this day to hear your children sing a few great Christmas songs for you.  December 19th will be the last day of school and we return on Wednesday, January 2nd.

Please note that there will be no GYM DAY during this month.  Show and Tell will be on Monday, December 17th.

Mrs. Lori and I wish all of you a very Merry Christmas where the best of memories are made and very happy New Year.

LSCNS participates in Scholastic Reading Club. This program allows families to purchase books for kids at a low cost and have them delivered right to our school. Every order helps our classroom earn free books, supplies, and more. Each month, you will see flyers on the shelf in the hallway. Pick one up, browse through it, and, if you choose, fill out the order form and place it in the Scholastic box on the shelf. All orders may be paid by check, payable to Scholastic Reading Club or online at www.scholastic.com/readingclub with class code J3HTZ. We will post the monthly due dates for orders on the flyers each month. If you have any questions, please email info@lscns.org and the parent in charge of the program will get back to you.

Please be sure to always park in the main parking lot on the east side of the building. No parking is allowed in the small lot west of our classroom or along the shoulder of Roberts Road. Please use caution when driving or walking in the parking lot or on the sidewalks.
